New Year’s resolutions are never to early to begin. I have my list, which is very different from past years. It’s not a long one, because why put so much pressure on ones self. So here goes it!
Don’t put pressure on myself to stick to everything on the list.
Learn to prioritize things in order to get them done
Don’t agonize if you don’t get them all done
Put me first for a change, which I am not good at
Make sure I get legally separated before I die
Make sure I get my divorce before I die
Keep being the smart ass that I am
Know that being happy is my right
Retire
Keep loving and supporting my children until the day I die
It’s not a long one, but these are my goals for 2019. I will be 64 hopefully, and it’s never to late to realize dreams. I want to travel, but one challenge at a time. I want to become as happy and content as I can be. We only get to live life once! I am a very optimistic person, for the most part. Even I have moments where I start to doubt how my future will turn out. In the end however, no one has control of it but me! Resolutions aren’t silly. They are a method to help guide one and to help prioritize what really matters. I have never really thought about it until now. My life is going in a very different direction, and I need to have some idea how to proceed. So if you think New Year resolutions are silly and contrite, go ahead.
Building a foundation to help guide ones self is more important than you might think. Even a tradition of New Years resolutions can be a part of that. So don’t let anyone say you are just setting yourself up to fail. Not even trying is the biggest failure of all!
