Bad boys can conjure up many thoughts. My focus here is why women are so attracted to them. The obvious is that bad means not boring. I’ve realized over the years however, that just because a man comes across as one, doesn’t mean he is really!

                                               Bad Boys to Me

I have my definition of what one is. I can remember thinking that a guy who drove a pick-up  truck and wore a flannel shirt with a five o’clock shadow, fit the definition. Bad boy and rugged good looks were synonymous to me. That was the attraction to my husband and countless other men. It is an attitude like sexy. It serves up a certain kind of confidence.  There is no age limit for it. And don’t be fooled. A true one just is and doesn’t have to prove it. I’ve allowed to change one piece of the criteria. They can drive whatever they want to. I’ve seen some real nice bad boys driving BMW’s. I will take a bad boy any day.

                                         We’ve All Known One or Two

Since I’ve been around for a few decades, I have met my share of these kind of men. I was attracted to several before I ever married. There is no woman who can say that she has never met one that didn’t appeal to her. Whether he has a pierced ear, tattoos or rides a Harley, is not a factor. It’s in the look in the eyes, isn’t it women?  The bad ass attitude comes through loud and clear. They have nothing to prove to anyone. This is who they are and they are damn proud of it. We’ve all dated at least one, and maybe even married one. A true bad boy remains so for the ages. He never loses his edge, and realizes that’s what the original attraction was to his partner. So for those women out there lucky enough to have snagged a bad boy in one form or the other, kudos to you. For you have the cream of the crop.

                                            Most of Them Have Big Hearts

Since I’m speaking from personal experience only, all the guys I’ve been privileged to know, also have the biggest hearts. They love their mothers, which boasts well for us women, since they respect us as equals. Many of them have very high family values. Children are what keep them humble and grounded.

Some may have a hard time expressing their affection, but know that it is sincere. Loyalty is a trait of the bad boy, which is second to none. Once you got them, unless you screw up, they’re usually yours forever. Their hearts are capable of forgiving sometimes the unforgivable. Bad boys are definitely a breed of their own. So ladies , if you have one, hold them tight and don’t let go, whatever you do!
