2018 Resolutions….Okay, The Ones I Will Attempt

My 2018 resolutions will probably go the way my 2017 ones did, by the wayside. As others do, I always start with the greatest intentions. I strive to be happier and healthier every year. My 2018 resolutions will be no different. So here is my list of my 2018 resolutions or the ones I will attempt to do or keep.

                                       2018 Personal Resolution List

  1. Make those doctor appointments I cancelled for November and December
  2. Go back to drinking light beer, no matter how much you want that Reisling
  3. Working out at least 20 minutes everyday, even when you can’t lift a finger
  4.  Cutting back on those fried greasy delicious foods you so crave to often
  5. Taking your blood pressure at least once a day like the doctor has said, over and over
  6. Avoiding drama in your life, even if you are at the center of it, hard to do but……
  7. Handling finances as if your entire life is dependent on it…especially retirement!
  8. Cutting those you love dearly in your life some slack for trying to run your life!
  9. Focusing on your happiness for a change, in spite of others opposition
  10. Not worrying about everyone’s opinions on your decisions, because they are yours!
  11. Continue to take certain things in life with a grain of salt, for that is all they are worth
  12. Knowing that self happiness is nothing to feel guilty about anymore
  13. Striving for yourself and not others, it’s how you feel now
  14. Being there for others but not losing the path you want to take
  15. Being supportive of those who have been supportive of you
  16. Living your life day by day because we never know when that one day will be our last!

 

Numbers 1-7 are the ones I try to keep every year, which has become a random challenge at best. Resolutions 8-16 will be the more attainable ones for me. They are what will make me happy and more complete a person in the long-range future. When we are happier, those around us will see eventually, that they will be happier too.

It is human nature to adapt to situations, just as animals adapt to their habitats. When we are around happy and contented people, we tend to behave and feel the same. It’s not scientific people, just a fact of life. Happy 2018 everyone!!!   May you find health, inner peace and happiness!
