It’s getting closer to that infamous ball coming down at the stroke of midnight in Times Square. It’s also time to rank those pesky resolutions we try to keep year after year. I for one, have decided not to make any. For the most part, I was never big on them to start with, since I just fail to even succeed at one.
Let’s go through the list shall we. The popular ones are of course to get in shape, lose weight and exercise. Okay, the intent is there, if not the full commitment. But you see that is the main battle, to commit to doing it. Here’s another one which I am famous for and can never see through, stop biting nails. It’s my nervous habit as is smoking to others. Nail biting wins out over the smoke. Problem is it doesn’t curb my appetite!
Another one is working better at relationships. This one applies to all of us, married or single. How about just with people in general? Okay that might be another difficult one for me to keep entirely. Then there is the one to do better at work or in school, depending on your personal situation. I am already doing fine at work, thank you very much, so no need for that one. Maybe I should try again for being better at housekeeping. Sure….that’s okay, I can only work with what I have anyway.
Here is the one big one that has become more popular over time…try not to spend so much money and watch finances. This is a constant, not just a resolution to have at the start of every new year. This requires a lot of work dare I say. It’s an everyday commitment, not just a temporary resolution. I’m still working hard at this one, even at 61!
So what, if any resolutions will you make for 2017? Would love to read some different ones or know if you feel like I do? Take a minute and drop me a comment or two. Check back with you later.
