This is the greeting I send today with the hopes of not offending anyone out there. No disrespect intended towards mine or anyone person’s belief, for all of us do not believe in the same thing.
Many will be celebrating the upcoming holidays in their own way. Some will be fortunate enough to be with family, and others not so much. There will be those who will be helping strangers thru these days ahead. Others will just act as if it is another day on the calendar. And that is okay.
I see intolerance everyday from people who worship whatever and whoever, but can’t respect the differences among us. They preach to others about good and evil, yet don’t follow those same teachings. The hypocrisy among us is rampant when it comes to appreciating that no, we are all not the same and think the same. But do as I say and not as I do!
You would think that this is the one time of year where people could step out of their little boxes and just understand that yeah, the world is a big place with all kinds of people living in it. Maybe I am going on a bit of a rant, but I’ve been around long enough to see how people treat and talk about those who don’t believe or think like them. I have been on the receiving end of it.
But I try to be a positive person. I don’t perceive to think that I am better than anyone else. Misfortune comes in all shapes and sizes, and does not discriminate. There is no religion or race which is superior. As quickly as this world came about, it can easily self destruct. However, let an asteroid do it people, not you and I. It makes me sad to see what is happening everywhere. The little bubble you might live in has burst.
Well now that you’re all depressed, I can wish you a happy whatever. I really try to stay away from religion and politics in my blogs, but sometimes it is a difficult thing to do. Three holidays hit together this year. There will be those who celebrate one, all or none. With that being said, I wish everyone out there a happy or merry whatever.
Salty Sixties will be taking a break on the 25th to enjoy time with most of her family. So kickback, smell the cookies, watch the lights, do what makes you happy the days ahead. It’s still just one big world out there, and we all live in it!
