The turkey is almost thawed, my cleaning is complete, pies are done and we are almost ready for takeoff.

Dishes and casseroles are out and their functions for the meal tomorrow have been designated. This is just part of how we keep our sanity on days like this. My husband the former Marine, always has a game plan. I really can’t knock it. After all, he is the better packer for when we go on vacation.

The guest list is complete. We have to make a few modifications, but it’s not like we haven’t done it before. I have to admit, I might not have the social etiquette of throwing a party down to an art, but we always make everyone feel at home. I am looking forward to this Thanksgiving. We missed a few people last year, but this year everyone will be here.  Our  son and his fiance will be here for dinner tonight, and the rest of the crew will be here tomorrow.
