Yes, I will admit it. I am the crazy cat lady who lives in the neighborhood. No, It doesn’t mean I have 20 running around the house. However, I do have 4 and one visiting at the moment ( my son’s).
Cats have always been my preference. I grew up with at least one cat on hand from when I was very young. Sorry dog lovers, they just never made it thru the front door. My pets have always been like children to me, as many of you out there know the feeling if you own one. Cats in particular were a lot
like me.
They were quiet, kept to themselves, and fiercely independent. My cats would tell me if they felt like playing with a ball, or string. Mine were indoor too. I went thru the experience of having one get hit when he was outside. From then on, inside it was. The convenience of litter boxes gave me time to enjoy them, or do what I needed to do.
I had a cat through the high school and college years, one that went through a divorce and new relationship with me, which then led to other felines after the kids came. No matter how depressed or upset I was, being around them made me laugh and just feel a lot better. Only cat owners know how it feels.
My husband became a converted cat lover. He has his favorites and they know it. It worries me how he will feel if one goes to soon. We have been through that experience many times also, and it never gets easy. We had some of our cats for 14 to 15 years. It is hard, but you still go and adopt others to love and to love you back.
They are as different in personality as a child. Some are cuddly and some aloof. Whichever way you look at it, nothing is better to curl up to sometimes then a furry little cat. Sometimes they are even better than a bowl of chicken noodle soup. Just saying!
