This Salty Sixties is off to the beach for the weekend. It is our happy place and one day we hope to make it our permanent place.
There is just something to me about being by the ocean. It’s different from a lake, or river. The ocean is so much bigger than all of us. You look out and see nothing. No end in sight. Watching the waves and the power of Mother Nature at her finest is soothing to us.
We stay where we have a ringside seat. Just drinking coffee in the morning gives it an entirely different dimension. Listening to the waves at night even makes it just that more surreal. I sit on the beach to be near it, not necessarily in it. The beach for me is not to get that perfect tan, which never turns out that way. We can spend hours under the umbrella, feeling the breeze and watching the waves come in and go out.
This is our first trip this year. This is short, but so anticipated. My husband and I are like little kids today. We are lucky to have one just several hours away. Fortunate enough to be able to go.
Enjoy your weekend everyone. We most certainly will enjoy ours!!
