Today is a day I’m glad to be here for. It is my birthday and just making it to 61 is wonderful.

I say that tongue in cheek because I take no day in my life for granted. We have seen how you can just go about your own business one minute, and be gone the next due to health or evil. My feeling is everyday I can put my feet down on the floor after I wake up, it’s starting out right.

My birthday is always a time of reflection for me. First thing I do is take off from work. I did better this time and took 4 days. I mainly chill and look at what I have in my life. Using the word blessed seems to be the thing these days. Okay then, I will say that. I am truly blessed.

I am married to the love of my life. There are 2 wonderful children that came out of that love. Family is important to me, and I have a wonderful extended one. I have a home I love and a job which helps keep that home running, and I have what I would say is good health. Compared to so many I know, I have nothing to complain and whine about. This will be a day to revel in me, which I don’t do often enough.
