So once again the question comes up, are you a grandma yet? The answer for now and the other 100 times I’ve been asked is no, not yet. That decision is not mine to make. However, you would think that is exactly what some people, especially women, think.
I have two wonderful children. One is married, the other engaged. Call me old fashion, but they are so far, doing it the old traditional way. The focus has been on school and careers in that order. I can proudly say that neither lives with us. They have established their own lives. I’ll take that for now.
It makes me laugh when people think that having children, especially these days, is a gimme. There are many in this generation, who grew up in the 90’s and early 2000’s, that believe in other lifestyles. Some include kids and others don’t. I have total respect for whatever my children’s choice is in that matter. Bottom line is that it is not mine to make, period!
For the record, I do see grandchildren in our future. So if I sound annoyed the next time you ask me that question, get the hint. It’s really none of yours or anyone’s business. Just me and my kids!!
