So in the process of trying to live longer and feel better, let’s face it, not everything you eat makes you feel good. There are those of us who pride ourselves in attempting to do the right thing and eat healthy. There are those of us who eventually get payback from all that good stuff.
I would like to blame it on getting older, but genes have made it impossible for me to enjoy certain foods without going through the agony and the pain. Well, maybe age hasn’t helped any either, so it’s like a Catch 22. For instance, I love vegetables. I adore fruit. Nothing tastes better to me than a tall glass of milk. Basically, if I want to torture myself, I eat these foods on a daily basis.
I have learned too, that eating at work is now a challenge. Certain foods are not good in public, if you know what I mean. Forget the grapes, and the salad. My work depends on a certain amount of productivity. That doesn’t happen when those items are on the menu. Why I even read that tuna had a certain way of effecting one’s system, that laxatives were not needed. I tested it, and it is a fact!
It’s not always easy, but I still will try to do what is best for me. If that means a little ache here and there, so be it. I just pick the right time and place to indulge. Adjusting to getting older means making adjustments to many things. Giving up all my favorite healthy foods will not be one of them. Bon Appetit!!
